Economico vs Mesh
A finance team needs to automate expense accruals across its systems.
What Mesh handles
Mesh’s current site centers on auditable accrual automation: it gathers signals from procurement, inboxes and an ERP, applies policies, and sends reviewed entries back to the ERP. That is more than an analysis layer. Economico starts with one company’s contract and activity records; it does not ingest those external sources on its own.
Which starting point fits?
| Fit | Mesh | Economico |
|---|---|---|
| Target user | Controller or finance team | Builder founder working through their own agent |
| Target company | Mid-market company coordinating accruals and close | Pre-seed or seed software startup, including SaaS and AI products |
| Main job | Gather finance signals and automate accrual work | Explain revenue, costs, cash and obligations from recorded facts |
| Choose when | Choose Mesh when a finance team needs to collect external signals and automate its month-end accrual process. | Choose Economico when you need to know this month’s incurred vendor cost and what is still owed, with source terms you can inspect. |
If your finance team already runs an accrual ledger, reconcile the unpaid items before changing reporting sources.
Month-end accrual collection or a live source record?
Mesh’s accrual automation gathers signals from procurement, an AP inbox, Slack and Teams and turns recurring spreadsheets into auditable workflows. That is valuable when a finance team has many systems and must find expenses before invoices arrive. Mesh is specific about the close problem it solves.
A pre-seed AI builder may have the simpler question: did model-provider usage this month create a cost and amount due, even before the bill arrived? Economico records the contract and received service, then reports the expense and payable from that activity. It does not monitor the inbox or procurement stack, so the builder or their agent must supply the evidence.
Choose Mesh when the work is collecting and reviewing accruals across a growing finance operation. Choose Economico when one business needs to explain an obligation as its underlying activity is recorded.
A model cost before the invoice arrives
Your AI product incurs model-provider usage this month, though the invoice arrives later. Record the supplier terms and service received so the expense and payable can be inspected beside their source.
Record the received service and supplier terms deliberately. Without the source activity, Economico cannot discover a missing accrual from email or Slack.
Check this month’s unbilled cost
Bring a model-provider agreement and evidence of service received. Ask what this month incurred and what remains due.
