Keep credited vendor bills closed after payment bounces
The problem A payment bounced, then you entered an earlier credit note, and the cancelled bill still showed money owed both ways.
Crediting a vendor bill before an already recorded payment bounce or allocation undo nets the refund against the reopened bill at the undo date. The earlier refund and the original payment remain in the history. If a later settlement prevents safe netting, the refusal gives a supported correction date.
