Founders and Startup plans
Founders is $29 a month or $290 a year for up to three people total, including the owner and read-only members, with 1,000 events a month. Teammates have bookkeeper or reader access. Startup is $79 a month or $790 a year for unlimited people with their own permissions and 5,000 events a month. Both include shared views and scoped agents; agents do not count as people.
Existing Startup customers keep their signed price, included events and unlimited members. YC offers apply to both paid plans. See pricing for the terms.
Pay plan invoices through Link, MPP or x402
An authorized agent can pay an offered Startup or Solo extra-events invoice through a Link Shared Payment Token, MPP or x402. The payment exchange uses the same invoice status and recovery flow as card collection, so retries do not create a second purchase. The invoice’s returned methods and challenge tell the agent exactly which payment protocol is available.
Finish Startup setup after a saved-card retry
If your first Startup payment needs a saved card and a later retry collects it, checking the purchase or retrying setup uses the recorded payment to activate your plan. You are not asked to pay again, and checking an unpaid purchase does not charge your card.
Billing retries after a processing setup fault
If our payment-processing setup needs repair, your payment stays ready to retry. The fault goes to our operators without counting as a failed card payment or using your payment retries.
A paid plan can finish setup after an interrupted payment
If a payment is recorded but setup is interrupted, recovery uses that recorded payment to finish the purchase. A software update or a temporary Stripe outage does not leave an already paid purchase waiting for a new payment.
Recover past Startup subscription expenses
Economico can recover past monthly Startup fees that stayed in prepaid expenses after their service was recorded. Each month moves to subscription expense once, with its original record retained in your books.
Annual Startup fees become a monthly expense
An annual Startup fee is spread across the twelve months it pays for. Each month moves one twelfth from prepaid expenses to software subscription expense, with the final month keeping any rounding. Past annual fees can be recovered through the same process.
Paid-plan setup handles an update to payment processing
When you start a paid plan, card collection can finish even if our payment-processing setup needs an update.
Plan payments retain any excess for return
If Stripe reports a card payment above your plan invoice, the invoice is marked paid and the excess is recorded as money owed back to you. Retrying the payment records it once, without another charge.
Monthly Startup fees appear as an expense
Your monthly Startup fee is recorded as a software subscription expense when its period starts, including the first paid period. A credit for a written-off invoice reverses that expense too. Annual fees remain prepaid while their recognition policy is being decided.
Billing shows what a cancel charged, and whether you can keep your plan
When you cancel a plan that bills extra events at once, Billing now shows that charge, how much it was and whether it is paid, and says how many events you can still record and until when. When keeping the plan would be refused, Billing says so and why, for example that the charge must be paid first, instead of offering Keep.
Event allowance emails with the recording that reaches the threshold
On Startup or Solo with extra events, the recording that reaches 80% or 100% of your included events triggers the owners’ email straight away, as on Solo. The daily check stays as a backstop, and each threshold is emailed once per period. If you cancelled the plan, the email says where recordings stop and until when.
Closing a business ends its paid plan
When you close a business that is on a paid plan, the plan now ends with it. The business stays open until the end of the period you already paid for, then closes, and the card saved for it is removed once its last charge is settled. Closing cancels the plan the way cancelling it does: extra events recorded so far this period are billed and charged right away, and recordings past the included events pause until the business closes. You get an email with the closing date, and the cancellation page and Billing show it. You can stop the closing until that date; the business stays open and the plan still ends with its period, and you can keep it from Billing where your agreement allows. A business with no paid plan closes at once, as before.
Keep Startup after a cancel, and choose it again the moment it ends
If you cancel monthly Startup after using extra events, those extra events are billed at once, and that charge stands in for next month’s invoice. You can still keep Startup: once that charge is paid, Keep Startup in Billing shows a new Startup agreement that starts the day your current one ends, with its price, and accepting it keeps your plan running with no gap. Until then the period you cancelled in stays at its included events, as before.
When a plan ends, Billing now shows it as ended straight away, and you can choose Startup or extra events again at once. Any new plan starts only once every invoice from Economico is paid: while one is unpaid, choosing a plan, switching between monthly and annual, or keeping Startup with a new agreement takes you to Billing to pay it first.
Pay a last invoice after your plan has ended
If a payment for Startup or extra events fails after the plan has ended, the link in the email now lets you save another card and pay it. Billing in Settings offers “Change card” while a plan runs or an invoice is still unpaid, and after you save a card it takes you back there. A card you save after the plan has ended, only to pay that invoice, is removed once it is paid. If the extra events billed when you cancelled are never paid, they are forgiven: we write them off and never charge them again.
Event emails after you cancel say where recordings stop
After you cancel Startup or turn off extra events, the email about your included events no longer quotes a price for extra events, since none are billed any more. It says how many events you can still record this period and until when. If you had that email before cancelling, you get one corrected email.
Cancelling settles this period's extra events at once
When you cancel Startup, or turn off extra events on Solo, any extra events you have recorded so far in the current period are billed and charged right away, instead of on an invoice after the plan ends. Your plan keeps running to the end of the period you paid for, with its included events, but no further extra events: recordings past the included events are paused until it ends. If the extra events billed at the cancel started a block, you can use that block to its end. If that charge fails and is never paid, the plan still runs to the end of the period you paid for. If you cancelled by mistake and no extra events were billed, you can keep Startup from Billing in Settings. This applies to plans started from today; earlier plans keep the terms they were signed under.
An email before your events run out
Economico now emails a business’s owners when its events this period reach 80% of what the plan includes, and again when they are all used. On Solo the email says when recordings stop and links to turning on extra events or upgrading to Startup; on Startup or with extra events it says what events past the allowance cost. If a recording is refused because it no longer fits in Solo’s events, the email goes out straight away.
Startup is on sale, and Solo can go past 100 events
Startup is now available: $29 a month or $299 a year per company, not per seat, with a 14-day free trial and 1,000 events a month included, then $5 for each started 500. Choose it when you create a business, or upgrade from Billing in Settings. On Solo, save a card to keep recording past 100 events a month at $5 for each started 100. Each plan and invoice is recorded in your own books as well as ours, and your card is charged through Stripe. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current period.
Launch event allowances
Solo includes 100 new events a month; the upcoming Startup plan includes 1,000. Extra events will cost $5 for each started 100 on Solo or each started 500 on Startup. Historical imports have a separate one-time allowance of 1,000 events on Solo or 10,000 on Startup. Your recorded history is retained. Solo pauses further recordings at 100 events until the next monthly reset; you can still read, export, upgrade or set up payment at the limit. YC subscription offers keep the same event allowances and overage rates.
Free is now Solo, and Team is now Startup
The plans have new names. Free, the full product for a founder on their own, is now called Solo, and every business is on it. Team, which adds members and shared links, is now called Startup. Startup is coming soon: it is not on sale yet, and we will say here when it is. Any agreement you have already accepted stays exactly as it was.
The agreement every company accepts when it signs up is now called the Economico service agreement. It puts you on Solo.
