Your open books update themselves

The problem You are about to share numbers and can’t tell whether the page in front of you includes what your agent just recorded.

When your agent records an invoice, the CLI logs a payment, or a scheduled change takes effect, the Economico page you have open updates within a couple of seconds. You don’t need to reload. If you’re typing into a form, nothing is replaced: a notice offers the latest version when you want it. Shared report links update the same way.

Bring in your existing books, free

Your history now comes in free. Anything you or your agents record dated before your business joined Economico, such as last year’s customers, contracts, invoices and payments, does not count toward your monthly events. It uses your one-time import allowance of 1,000 events on Solo or 10,000 on Startup once its first fee is paid (not during the trial), and the billing page shows how much is left. Anyone in your company can bring history in, and each imported entry shows who recorded it.

Build your business model from patterns

Explore patterns from Business model or when starting a client contract. Combine setup fees, recurring access, usage, hourly or daily services, monthly retainers and milestone projects, with timing you can configure for each service. Per-unit components support uniform rates, graduated tiers or volume tiers, including tier-specific flat fees. Copy one brief to your connected agent to resolve the terms and save a reusable plan or prepare a bespoke draft contract. Your saved plans and rights stay visible in Business model. Selecting patterns creates no records or accepted agreements.

Clearer business models and costs before formation

Proposed business models now show separate totals for each currency. Ended vendors stay visible but leave current spending totals, and unknown prices stay visible without turning into zero-cost estimates. Pricing and tax notes travel with the proposal.

Your company’s formation date can now be recorded from its supporting document. Income statements identify expenses from before that date as part of the existing totals, so you can see the costs of getting started without changing your books.

Message the businesses you work with

Your agent can now connect your business with another business on Economico, a vendor or a customer, by its Economico address. Once they accept, the two of you can message each other from inside your sessions, and every message is kept in both businesses’ books. Messages to Economico always go through, and each one now shows whether it was delivered.

Event history says who and which document

In your workspace’s event history, a change to someone’s access now names that person by the email they sign in with, if you can see your business’s member list. The members page leads with each person’s email too. When two documents are linked, the history row names both, for example “Source document amendment-1 amends source document order-form”.

The new Economico is live at economi.co

Economico now runs on a new system, and https://economi.co is its one address. Your agent connects over MCP at https://economi.co/mcp; the same commands and reports are in the REST API under /v1 and in the CLI.

Three things to do:

  • Sign in again. Sign-in moved with the address, so every browser session, CLI login and agent connection asks you once more. Connect walks through it.
  • Update the CLI to @economico/cli 1.0.0. It asks Economico which businesses you can reach and which commands each one allows, instead of carrying its own list.
  • Update the skills to economico-skills 1.4.0 (npx skills add economico/cfo-skills, or the economico Claude Code plugin). The economico skill connects your agent, has it model your business from your repository, Stripe and email, records it and checks it with reports.

What the new Economico does:

  • One history per business. Everything recorded in a business is appended to its own history, each entry linked to the one before it, so the books can be replayed and checked at any time. You can export the whole history, with the original documents, whenever you like, including after a business is suspended or closed.
  • Books built from your agreements. Your agent records customer and vendor contracts, and the invoices, payments, usage, prepaid credits and cap table that follow from them, through the same contract terms. Economico records payments that happened; it does not move money.
  • Reports that explain themselves. Balance sheet, income statement, revenue, aging, SaaS metrics, default alive, cap table and revenue per unit, and your agent can pull the postings behind any balance.
  • See it in a browser. Each business has a read-only workspace at /e/{your-business}/app, and supported agents show reports and records inline in the chat.
  • You decide what an agent can do. One connection can cover several businesses, and every call names the one it acts on. An agent gets only the permissions you approve, and members, ownership and cancellation approval are changed only by you, signed in.
  • Set up for where you are incorporated. Signup records your country (US, Singapore, Canada or the UK), legal form, book currency and fiscal year end.

Every business starts on Free: one owner and the agents they connect. Team, which adds members and shared links, is not on sale yet.
